Camie’s Story
“So we need to remember hundreds of slides to pass the mid-term exam? “
The next second, Camie received a nifty “Yes” from her tutor. Meanwhile, she heard groans all around the room.
Long ago, Camie did never worried about memorising and doing academic stuff. She was extremely rational, never feel tired and anxious, all because she had owned a body that beyond the human.
Now, it’s not anymore. She became a real human being and have her fresh to feel the world, for the price of gaining the weakness and vulnerability of human being.
Like any other people, she went to the library and started to scan the slides again and again. Soon, she found the difficulties…She forgot the content again and again. Therefore, she can only spend more time on reading, understanding, and memorising. She quickly got tired, and she lay on the desk for a short dream.
“What’s the meaning of doing this? ”
In her dream, she went back to the place she born. Everyone was looking at her without understandings. Everyone was asking her this question.
In the next second, no one was there, except Camie herself. It is she to ask herself the same question,
“What’s the meaning of doing this? ”
“What’s the meaning of leaving your privileged body and mind, choosing to become a human being with such a weak and vulnerable body, with such an emotional and sensitive mind? ”
Everyone is asking her. Or, she is asking herself.
Camie woke up. She looked around and found that she is still in the library, the course slides are still opening in her screen. She tried to memorise the content again, and she found that she can remember almost everything.
“This is the answer. ”
Her finger touched the keyboard and touch board, thought,
“It was me making the choice, to do the thing I want…It would be the most meaningful thing. ”
